Cities #1: Fargo (Tiny Moving Parts)

Since when do you live in Fargo?
Billy and Dylan moved there for college in 2008 and 2009, respectively, and Matt moved there a couple years later to join them and concentrate on the band.

What should everyone know about Fargo?
It’s not like the movie! But it’s kinda like the movie… Or so people tell us.

Is there a thing that totally annoys you about the city?
It’s far from everywhere! Our tours usually start with a few really long drives.

What is the greatest thing about living in Fargo?
The cost of living is nice and cheap, but the people are the best part. We’ve met a lot of people in the last five or so years, and the small city is home to so many of them.

How does the city reflect itself in your music? Does it influence you in any way?
It reflects the simple life. A lot of things that are brought up in our songs, like lakes and forests, aren’t as easily available everywhere else.

Whats you favourite venue to play in Fargo?
That’s a tie between The New Direction and The Aquarium. The New Direction is a DIY venue we’ve been playing at since the beginning. The Aquarium is our favorite bar to get drunk at and has killer sound!

What’s your favourite place in the city?
The Boogo Farm. It’s our friends’ house and our favorite place to hang!

Do you have a favourite song or movie about Fargo?
Well, Fargo.

If you would not live in Fargo, which city would be your favourite to live in? Why?
That’s tough, probably somewhere that doesn’t get down to 30 degrees below zero every winter. Like Miami sounds warm!

What would be a perfect slogan for Fargo?
“Oh, yaaah. Doncha know?”
